I normally wouldn’t ask for help like this, but as I look within and listen to my inner knowing and in my heart it feels like the right next step to do so …
I connected with a Volunteer ER Physician in Gaza over the past week. We’ve been trading DMs and Voice Notes. Mahmoud has shared photos & videos of him and his family over the past several days.
Listening to the sadness and defeat in his voice.
Also hearing the little glimmers of hope and gratitude when he saw my post on Instagram and my little $5 donation …
And if you’ve been following my IG, you all know my financial situation after retiring after 14 years of nursing back in March.
Listening to the planes in the background at different moments with the different emotions in his voice felt so surreal.
If it were you and I talking over the phone, I would hear quiet, a TV, laughter, or children and pets playing in the background.
Mahmoud (26) and his wife, Marah, have raised enough money for the two of them to cross the border to Egypt from Rafah where the current siege is taking place. Now that they have reached that goal, they felt it was not right to leave without their parents.
I can’t imagine making the choice between living a life without my parents to save my own or not living at all. I can understand the decision.
Here’s their family’s GoFundMe
If anyone can donate what little or as much as you can that would mean the world.
If you can’t, please share and encourage others to share so it can reach the right people who have the resources to donate.
Any little action still counts as an act of kindness from a place of Love because Universe/God/Spirit works through miracles. Whatever that action ends up looking like.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
